Model-based Design and Verification and CyberSecurity Solutions for Automotive and Digital Power

The talk will deal with Model-based Design and Verification methodology for embedded HW/SW solutions in automotive ECUs and in Digital Power applications, thanks to UNIPISA experience in industrial and European projects. Moreover, advanced cybersecurity solutions for Over-the-air secure SW/FW update, Post Quantum Cryptography and users data privacy via homomorphic encryption will be also discussed.
 
 

Biography

Dr. Gianluca Dini (male) is Full Professor of Information Processing Systems at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Pisa and the Director of the Centre for Logistics Systems of the same university. He was the founder and Director of the post-graduate Master in Cybersecurity. His research interests are in the field of distributed computing systems with special interest in cybersecurity. He has published 150+ papers in international conferences, books, and journals. He has participated to many projects funded by the Italian Government, private companies, and the Commission of the European Community (from FP6 to H2020), where he has also played roles of coordination and management. He teaches the “Foundations of Cybersecurity” course within the MSc programs in Cybersecurity and Computer Engineering, respectively, at the School of Engineering of the University of Pisa.
 

Biography

Prof. Sergio Saponara is Full Professor of Electronic Engineering at University of Pisa. He is an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer and he got the Master Degree cum Laude and the PhD degree, both in Electronic Engineering, from University of Pisa. At University of Pisa he is the teaching responsible of the courses of “Vehicular Electronics”, “Electronic Systems for Automation and Robotics”, “Electronic Wireless Systems”, “Electronics Manufacturing” for the Master degree in Vehicle Engineering He is a member of the scientific council of UCAR: interUniversity Center of Automotive Research, involving Universities of Pisa, Florence and G. Marconi in Rome and of MOVET (association of private companies and public institutions). His research interests include integrated electronics, wireless systems, smart sensors and actuators, embedded & HPC digital signal processors, new instrumentation and measurement systems. Application domains are vehicles and intelligent transports, on-board space electronics, mechatronics and energy management, wearable and/or wireless sensing for IoT. His technology transfer activity includes collaborations with STMicroelectronics, Renesas, Selex, Ericsson, Piaggio, Magna Closure, AustriaMicroSystems, CAEN, Sitael, Intecs, Rico, Flyby, CarbonDream. He is co-founder and Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Ingeniars srl a spin-off company of the University of Pisa.
